We as riders don't usually stop at this cafe on weekend ride, but today road was closed due to a cycling event, so we stopped there. I must say I will consider this cafe too from now as the ambience is much more pleasent than down the road where we usually stop and the coffee is good, just a bit more expensive though. Cafe staff are so friendly and welcoming, too.

We were tired and hungry - big morning!! Began with coffee - extra hot almond latte - then very late brunch - best eggs I have ever had - also great toasties!! Coffee was so good we had another!! (Never usually do this!) Sitting under the grape vine canopy beside the olive trees - quaint, cute different and excellent quality food and service! Thank you Highly recommended!!

Riverbank Cafe in Lorne is an absolute winner! This place has such a great vibe and the food is just perfect for a casual lunch. I ordered a toasty and it was fantastic, grilled to perfection and packed with flavour. The coffee was also top-notch, exactly what I needed. What really stood out, though, was the gluten-free toasty, impressed with how delicious and well-prepared it was. It's so great when a cafe gets the gluten-free options right. Friendly staff, a lovely location by the river, and delicious food that caters for everyone. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Lorne!

Riverbank Café is a charming stop just before entering the picturesque town of Lorne, and it certainly delivers a memorable experience. Nestled in a scenic spot beside the river, the location alone is worth the visit. Surrounded by nature, the café offers a peaceful and relaxing setting, making it an ideal spot to unwind before continuing your journey along the Great Ocean Road. The food and coffee were excellent – fresh, well-presented, and full of flavour. While the prices are a little on the higher side, it’s understandable given the prime location and quality of the offerings. Sometimes, you're paying not just for a meal but for the overall experience, and Riverbank Café offers exactly that. The riverside view, combined with the gentle sounds of the surrounding bushland, creates a lovely atmosphere for breakfast, brunch, or a coffee break. What stood out most was the service. The staff were warm, friendly, and more than happy to accommodate all of our requests. Whether it was dietary preferences or seating choices, nothing was too much trouble, and that level of attentiveness really added to the overall positive experience. There’s ample parking nearby, and the café is also family-friendly, which is a bonus for those travelling with kids. All in all, Riverbank Café ticks the right boxes for location, food, and service. It’s a great stop whether you're passing through or looking to enjoy a meal in a tranquil riverside setting. We will definitely return on our next trip.

One of the best place to have coffee and snacks if you are on the Great Ocean Drive. Planning to stop over here before Teddy's lookout was an excellent idea.
